English is a
ever growing language and the second largest language spoken overall in the
world as well the forth most spoken language by native speakers. English is the
worlds most important language internationaly this probably came about as the result
of the British Empire`s effect on the world and The United States as a
superpower after world war II. Since many countries had to learn English as
result of colonisation it was quite natural that people could use it for trade
when countries became independent and needed help from countries with trading
goods and other needed support from the United States in the cold War. As a
result English spread as a language to learn in school so states could
communicate with each other before the era of the internett. In oppose to other
languages such as chinese and hindi that are only spoken inside their growing
countries, and not as a international languages. Since the States invented the
internett and later came to Britan as one of the first to get it, so it makes
sense that English became the language of the internett. You can directly see
the result from the sheer amount of articles on the web written in English, in
2012 it was estemated that 2,259,431 articles written in English was published
on wikipedia and under half the amount in German in second place. You can see
the result of English being the “linguea franca” of today because of all the different
abrivitation of English and new words poping up in different countries, not
just in the native speaking countries!

Great content. Take care to use punctuation like comma - have a look at the sentence starting with "Since many countries..." could you add some punctuation making it easier for the reader to follow? Also remember to use a capital letter in words connected to nationalities.
